For Kids Shuttle NZ founder Chazelle Raubenheimer, the answer was a morning where parents could slow down, children could play freely and neighbours could meet one another. A park alive with painted faces, balloons, music and games. Parents chatting over coffee. Children laughing. Families staying longer than they expected because they felt welcome.
That vision became Family Fun Day Milldale 2026, a free community event hosted by Kids Shuttle NZ and Generation Homes at Bonair Park on Saturday 29 August.
This is not simply a market day. It is the beginning of what we hope will become a much-loved annual day for families on the Hibiscus Coast.

This is designed to be an easy, relaxed morning rather than a hard-sell event. Bring the children, meet a friend, grab a coffee and enjoy as much or as little as you like.
Free face painting
Participating families can receive a digital voucher for the children in their family, subject to time and capacity.
Spin the prize wheel
Each family gets two chances to spin and win, with small surprises and selected larger prizes in the mix.
Balloons, mascots and games
Look out for balloon twisting, roaming characters and activities to keep children busy and smiling.
Local food and treats
Coffee, real fruit ice cream and boerewors rolls will be available to purchase throughout the morning.

Receive your voucher
We will send a face-painting voucher by SMS or email and confirm how many children it covers for your family.
Spin, play and explore
Take your family’s two prize-wheel spins, then enjoy the games and activities while you wait for face painting.
No smartphone or a form problem? Come to the gazebo and our team will help you complete the form in person.

Is the event free?
Yes, entry is free. Face painting is free for participating families, subject to the voucher process, available time and capacity. Food, coffee and ice cream are available to purchase.
Do we need to register before coming?
No advance registration is required. Complete the short QR-code form at the Kids Shuttle NZ and Generation Homes gazebo when you arrive.
Where and when is it?
Family Fun Day is at Bonair Park, Milldale, on Saturday 29 August 2026 from 10.30am to 1.00pm.
What should we bring?
Dress for an outdoor event and bring any sun protection or warm layers your family needs. Children must remain supervised by a parent or caregiver.
